I’m team what’s easier to clean, and looks clean the longest. I hate menial cleaning. Therefore, I paint in colors and finished that are quick and easy to clean.

White trim looks more lux. Thin trim should especially be white.

Definitely white trim. My doors and windows are black with white trim and it’s beautiful.

Leave it. It compliments the floor.

Chunk the BB. Get granite. Adds value to home, seal it every 10 years ish, use it as a cutting board, set pans from stove to counter. I wouldn't have any other type of counter. BB will eventually get knife marks and look ugly.

Seal the butcher block. I wouldn't stain it.

food safe oil

Stain is not food safe. Nor is seal. Would not recommend.

It's not going to be food safe (to use as a butchers block) if you stain, varnish, seal...etc. Get some Boos Block Mystery Oil & the Board Cream. It's easy to use & will keep the surface food safe.

No don't dtain it leave it natural you will regret it. Just enjoy it as is 😊

Stain it to match the tone of the floors. Then seal it. It’s a great little storage area. Great job.

Showing all the sanding was actually very helpful. I've been wondering if I need better quality pads for my orbital sander, or if it's just an insanely slow process. Now I think it's a mix of both. The extra leftover black paint on the inner corners of the doors actually did turn out really neat, happy accident!

Did you not frame the inside of the windows? I noticed it green in the end but wasn't sure if you did or not. If not, why not? I'm planning on doing this soon and am curious. Yours looks great, btw.

This looks so good. I’ve never painted my dresser before. Do I need to take any extra steps if I’m going lighter with the paint (vs. darker)?

Thank you for this tutorial! Dumb question - if I have a white ikea dresser, do I still have to sand it down if I want to stain it to the color similar to yours? Or because it’s white can I maybe just prime and stain it? I’ve never painted/stained an ikea furniture before and because I just want to stain it to a light wood wash I’m unsure what’s needed. Thanks!

I just bought a pre owned dresser and it’s the very dark brown so you suggest me sand it down ?before painting it white ?

I love these type of vidéos but I cannot stand how in between when they talk the music is ungodly loud compared to the voices. It’s to much.
